This stuff was virtually impossible to use.. I have never experienced a salve where I needed to use a spoon to even get it out of the container.. I make my own herbal salves, so knew I could fix it, because I know the amazing benefits of Manuka Honey.. I emptied the content of the three tins I purchased into a heat safe bowl and added vitamin E and Coconut oil.. Placed in the microwave to melt it all down and mix together.. I poured it back into the tins and allowed to set back up.. It works perfectly now and is really helping my furbaby with his skin issues..
Hi Shannen, I'm so sorry you had a hard time using the balm. We recommend using the heat of your breath or your hands (rubbing your fingers in a circular motion) before you apply if it is harder in consistency to soften. We must keep it this way due to higher temperatures melting it during shipping but it should moisten very easily with the warmth of your hands. Looks like you found another great way to soften it though! We apologize for any inconvenience and we do now have Travel Sticks that just launched that might be an easier way to apply in the future. Thank you, Elyse
I have used it 3x now on my dogs. It claims 1 wash will make a difference, or something to that extent. But I see no difference so far. However, I did not shake the bottle well before applying (didn’t read the instructions thinking a shampoo is a shampoo), so maybe that’s why? I will keep using it in hopes that it will help my dogs stop itching.
Hi Belinda, Although many of our customers see instant results, sometimes it will take some pets 2-4 weeks of consistent use for the skin to restore. Here are some simple tips to help achieve the best possible results for your pup! Shaking well is important as there can be some separation due to the natural ingredients. For healthy animals, the recommended washing interval is once every 2-4 weeks. However, you may feel free to wash as often as you like, because the probiotic kefir supports the skin’s natural biome and doesn’t disrupt it. For animals with chronic skin issues, it is best to bathe the animal once every 3 days for the first two weeks, then once a week until the skin normalizes. We highly recommend using a daily-use product, like Daily-use Probiotic Deodorizer or Daily-use Probiotic Detangler. The daily-use products will provide a much needed boost of probiotic to those trouble spots. You are fine switching to a monthly or bi-monthly routine once the skin has normalized. Hope that helps and let me know if you are still not seeing results in a week or two! We are here to help! Thank you, Elyse
Balm won't go on smooth. My little dog fights me and won't let me put it on her
Hi Julie, Try warming the balm in your hands first, you can rub between your hands or blow some warm air in your hands so it becomes warm and soft to rub on your pet. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions! Thank you, Elyse
